Eagle Fall Classic Results
MIDDLE ISLAND, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) - The SUNY College at
Old Westbury men's golf team finished sixth out of eight squads at
the Golden Eagle Fall Classic at the Spring Lake Golf Club.
The Panthers concluded the one-round event at 374 (+86), 30
strokes ahead of seventh-place NYU-Poly. The Jaspers of
Manhattan College registered a 304 (+16) to finish first, followed
by Farmingdale State (310, +22) and St. Joseph's-L.I. (317, +29)
rounding out the top three.
Three Old Westbury golfers placed in the top-30
individually. Senior Steve Stumper (East Meadow, NY) carded
an 89 (+17) to tie for 20th at 17-over 89. Four
shots behind, were freshman Matt Lester (Dix Hills, NY) and
sophomore Bryan Burris (Tehachapi, CA) tied for 25th
(93, +21).
Junior Amanda Laib (Massapequa Park, NY) finished in
32nd place (99, +27) while senior Joe Perry (Hicksville,
NY) rounded out the squad tied for 34th place (106,
+34).
Freshman Matthew Creamer (Sutton, MA) of Manhattan College
shot a 70 (-2) to finish first, followed by senior Masanao Maruyama
(Yamanashi, Japan) of Farmingdale State, who totaled a 74
(+2).
The Panthers return to action on Friday, September
25th at the Farmingdale State Skyline Invitational at
