The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's cross country team competed
at the 14th Annual 4K Stevens Invitational on Friday
afternoon, at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey.
10 teams competed overall, with Stevens Institute of Technology
taking the top-finish and Old Westbury claiming
10th. Dane Bender (Jersey City, NJ) of New Jersey
City won the individual 4K event.
Old Westbury senior Hakiem George (New York, NY) paced the
Panthers with a 39th place finish (16:33.57).
Junior Nicholas Perdomo (Hempstead, NY) raced to a 46th
place finish, crossing the line in 17:07.36 while classmate Rudy Lys (White Plains, NY) was the third Panther to run through the
finish line. Lys recorded a time of 17:25.71, placing
49th overall.
Freshman TaQuan Gray (Yonkers, NY) clocked a 17:32.11 to claim
51st. Sophomore Josh Wooten (Jamaica, NY) and
junior Ronald Ott (Garden City Park, NY) finished back-to-back at
64th and 65th overall. Wooten was the
fifth Panther to finish at 19:32.99 and Ott rounded out the squad
at 20:22.92.
The men's cross country team will next run at the York
Invitational. The event will be held at Van Cortland State
Park in the Bronx, New York on Sunday, September 27. Please
