PATCHOGUE, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Men's Soccer team played in its first Skyline Conference Championship and upset the top seeded St. Joseph's College (LI), 1-0. The Panthers hoisted their first Skyline Conference Championship Sunday on the campus of St. Joseph's College (LI) with a shutout performance by goalkeeper Brandon DeNoyer and the defensive attack.
Justin Leakey wasted no time and put Old Westbury up 1-0 with a goal at the 10:04 mark of the first half. That would be the lone goal for the game as the Panther defense held the Golden Eagles scoreless for the rest of the match. Brandon DeNoyer stopped six shots to earn the shut out victory.
Old Westbury claims conference championship with a 12-3-1 record, while St. Joseph's (LI) drops to 14-5-3.
