PANTHERS SQUASH YELLOW JACKETS, 9-1

SEPTEMBER 24, 2007

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Men's Soccer team opened up with a strong first half against New York City Tech (2-4) netting four goals to bump its overall record up to 4-3.  Old Westbury posted a 9-1 win over the Yellow Jackets on Wednesday at Panther Park on behalf of John Senatore's game-high 3 goals and 2 assists.

John Senatore was on the attack, closing in on a goal and slipped a quick pass to Alexander Renwart who caught the keeper out of position and put away the score to break open a scoreless game at the 14 minute mark.  At the 23:12 mark, Senatore received a pass from Justin Leakey and sent a laser past keeper James Hidlago to put the Panthers up 2-0.  The Panther lead would grow throughout the half and on through the remainder of the game as Senatore struck again, this time at the 30:42 mark when Orlando McFarlane found him to give the Panthers an early 3-0 advantage.  In the 35th minute, Old Westbury saw a strong surge shot by Alexnader Renwart off a penalty kick that gave the Panthers a 4-0 lead heading into the half way point.  Divine Jackson relieved keeper Brandon DeNoyer in the second half and let up the lone Yellow Jacket goal at the 48:55 mark when Kevin Blackman-Sonny delivered a kick out of Jackson's reach.  Old Westbury regrouped and Senatore scored his third goal of the game off a swift pass from Sandro Chriarlitti and Kimron Annikie to give the Panthers a 5-1 lead.  Orland McFarlane was then rewarded for his unselfish play when Renwart connected with him at the 62:57 mark to put the Panthers up, 6-1.  Brandon DeNoyer then insert himself into the offensive explosion when Kimron Annikie set him up for his first goal of the game at the 65:42 mark.  Within the next 1:39, Ragi Burton produced the next Old Westbury goal when he found DeNoyer lurching just outside the box to notch his second goal of the game.  Old Westbury scored the final goal of the game when Senatore and Burton integrated Lawrence Nurse into the mix, scoring his first goal of the season, lifting the Panthers to a season high ninth goal.

Old Westbury controlled the ball throughout the game, resulting in 42 shots while the Panther defense stifled City Tech, allowing only 7 shots.  Keeper Brandon DeNoyer recorded 1 save while Divine Jackson nabbed three saves.

Old Westbury returns to action on Saturday, September 29th on the road at Bard College for a Skyline Conference showdown at 2:00 pm.  For more information about the Old Westbury Panthers or to follow your favorite sports and events, log onto http://www.oldwestburypanthers.com/.
