OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old
Westbury Men's Soccer team opened up with a strong first half
against New York City Tech (2-4) netting four goals to bump its
overall record up to 4-3. Old Westbury posted a 9-1 win over
the Yellow Jackets on Wednesday at Panther Park on behalf of John
Senatore's game-high 3 goals and 2 assists.
John Senatore was on the attack, closing in on a goal and
slipped a quick pass to Alexander Renwart who caught the keeper out
of position and put away the score to break open a scoreless game
at the 14 minute mark. At the 23:12 mark, Senatore received a
pass from Justin Leakey and sent a laser past keeper James Hidlago
to put the Panthers up 2-0. The Panther lead would grow
throughout the half and on through the remainder of the game as
Senatore struck again, this time at the 30:42 mark when Orlando
McFarlane found him to give the Panthers an early 3-0
advantage. In the 35th minute, Old Westbury saw a
strong surge shot by Alexnader Renwart off a penalty kick that gave
the Panthers a 4-0 lead heading into the half way point.
Divine Jackson relieved keeper Brandon DeNoyer in the second half
and let up the lone Yellow Jacket goal at the 48:55 mark when Kevin
Blackman-Sonny delivered a kick out of Jackson's reach. Old
Westbury regrouped and Senatore scored his third goal of the game
off a swift pass from Sandro Chriarlitti and Kimron Annikie to give
the Panthers a 5-1 lead. Orland McFarlane was then rewarded
for his unselfish play when Renwart connected with him at the 62:57
mark to put the Panthers up, 6-1. Brandon DeNoyer then insert
himself into the offensive explosion when Kimron Annikie set him up
for his first goal of the game at the 65:42 mark. Within the
next 1:39, Ragi Burton produced the next Old Westbury goal when he
found DeNoyer lurching just outside the box to notch his second
goal of the game. Old Westbury scored the final goal of the
game when Senatore and Burton integrated Lawrence Nurse into the
mix, scoring his first goal of the season, lifting the Panthers to
a season high ninth goal.
Old Westbury controlled the ball throughout the game, resulting
in 42 shots while the Panther defense stifled City Tech, allowing
only 7 shots. Keeper Brandon DeNoyer recorded 1 save while
Divine Jackson nabbed three saves.
Old Westbury returns to action on Saturday, September
29th on the road at Bard College for a Skyline
