BROOKLYN, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team downed Skyline Conference opponent, Polytechnic, 7-2 on Saturday afternoon at Aviator Sports and Recreation Complex in Brooklyn, N.Y.  Old Westbury now sits at 8-7 on the season and 6-3 in conference action while Polytechnic Institute of NYU falls to 2-13-4 on the year and 1-6-2 in league play. 

Junior Edwin Mejia (Uniondale, N.Y.) put the Panthers on the board as he scored an unassisted goal in the 37th minute of play.  The Panthers struck again in the 40th minute when fellow classmate Fabian Santibanez (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) netted his 9th goal of the season to give the panthers a 2-1 advantage.  In the 64th minute sophomore Justin Leakey (Baldwin, N.Y.) finished a pass from Fabian Santibanez for the third goal of the game.  Four minutes later Fabian Santibanez scored his second of the game off a pass from freshman German Parodis (Mardel Plata, Argentina), increasing his season total to 10.  Orlando McFarlane (West Hempstead, N.Y.) got into the scoring mix when he blasted home the fifth goal of the game for Old Westbury off an assist by senior John Senatore (Ridge, N.Y.).  The scoring continued in the 84th minute when sophomore Kimron Annikie (Central Islip, N.Y.) unleashed a shot into the back of the Blue Jay net off a pass from Santibanez to net the sixth goal of the game.  Sophomore Daniel Lepe (Hempstead, N.Y.) finished off the barrage of goals for the Panthers with a score in the last minute of play.

In goal for Old Westbury, sophomore Darian Bryan (Elmont, N.Y.) recorded seven saves, while allowing two goals in 90 minutes of play. Wilson Zhindon recorded a game high 11 saves for the Blue Jays, but surrendered seven goals.  Old Westbury out-shot Polytechnic Institute of NYU, 19-9, and held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
