PHOENIX, AZ-The SUNY College at Old Westbury
men's basketball team fell 84-57 to Lewis & Clark College at
the Cactus Jam Hoop Classic at South Mountain Community College in
Phoenix, Arizona on Monday evening.  The loss put the Panthers
at 3-6 on the season, while the Pioneers of Lewis & Clark
College jump to 6-2 on the year.
Old Westbury trailed Lewis & Clark, 38-21 at half time, due
in part to 6-of-18 shooting from the floor in the opening
stanza.  The Pioneers dominated throughout the game,
outscoring Old Westbury 46-36 in the second half and forced the
Panthers into 27 turnovers.   
Lester Prosper sparked the Panthers with a game-best 17 points
and four blocked shots.  Prosper shot 7-of-9 from the field to
go with seven pull downs as Garthlette James registered 13 points,
six rebounds and a steal.  Hakiem George added nine points,
four rebounds and a steal while Bill Reese chipped in with five
assists.  Dwayne Messam scored five points.    
Four Pioneers registered double-digits in the point column led
by Tyson Papenfuss and James Edwards, who each had 12 points. 
Edwards finished with six assists and two steals while Tyler
Tsukazaki and Kyle Meeuwsen added 11 points apiece.  Meeuwsen
added seven rebounds and two steals while Josh Kollasch and James
Hollins followed with eight and seven points, respectively. 
Kollasch added ten rebounds, with four off the offensive glass to
go with six assists. 
Old Westbury shot 41.7 percent from the field on the evening,
but struggled at the free throw line, connecting on just 15-of-26
attempts (57.7%).  The Panthers won the battle of the boards,
edging Lewis & Clark 35-34.    
The Green and Ivory will pick up their dribble next on Tuesday,
December 30th at South Mountain Community College with a
