WEST HARRISON, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Baseball team swept a double-header with Skyline Conference opponent, Purchase College on Sunday afternoon on the road.  Old Westbury topped Purchase College, 4-1 in game one and closed with a close, 4-3 victory for the sweep.  Old Westbury improves to 8-17 overall and 6-2 in league play while Purchase College climbs to 4-17 on the season and 3-3 in Skyline Conference action.

Green and Ivory at the plate (Game 1): Thomas Butler (3-for-4) collected three hits to lead the Panthers.  Butler belted a triple that drove in David Collado (2-for-3;RBI) in the fifth inning, while Ryan Blanco (2-for-5) scored one run and tripled in Ben Farmer (2-for-4) and John Taglienti (1-for-3; SB) in the second inning.  Kevin Reynolds (2-for-5) and Josh Flett (2-for-4) hit a pair of singles. 

Purchase College at the plate (Game 1): Michael Shea (0-for-3; SB) reached base on a walk and then scored the lone run for the Panthers off a fielder's choice by Austin Groves (0-for-4).  Tony Dimitry (1-for-4), Gregory Martin (1-for-2), George Kennedy (1-for-4) and Dominick Simone (1-for-3) each singled.  Anthony Dowalo (0-for-3) struck out three times. 

Green and Ivory on the mound (Game 1): George Pagan went the distance to lead the Panthers to victory.  Pagan was charged with one earned run on four hits and struck out seven batters while walking one.

Purchase College on the mound (Game 1): Eric Golden suffered the loss after tossing a complete game.  Golden surrendered four earned runs on 14 hits while striking out four and walking one.

Game notes (Game 1): Old Westbury out-hit Purchase College, 14-4 including a 2-0 advantage in the extra base hit department.  On the base path, Old Westbury stole one out of three bases and stranded seven while Purchase College stole one base and stranded five.  In the field, Old Westbury's John Taglienti committed the lone error of the game.  On the mound, Old Westbury struck out seven and walked one while Purchase College had four strikeouts and walked one.

Green and Ivory at the plate (Game 2): Emmanuel Mateo (2-for-3) and Bill Campbell (2-for-2) led the Panthers after collecting the only hits and two stolen bases apeice in game two.  Mateo belted a doubled and scored two runs while Campbell hit a pair of singles and drove in one and scored one.  Josh Flett (0-for-3) added one stole base and drove in one run.  Ben Farmer (0-for-3) and John Taglienti (0-for-2, R) were each sent back to the dugout twice on strikes. 

Purchase College at the plate (Game 2): George Kennedy (3-for-4) led Purchase College with three singles and drove in one run.  Anthony Dowalo (2-for-4; RBI) and Kyle Saud (2-for-4; R) each hit a pair of singles.  Tony Dimitry (1-for-2), Michael Shea (1-for-3; R) and Christopher Farago (1-for-4; R) each singled. 

Green and Ivory on the mound (Game 2): Dan Fordyce (3-1) recorded the victory after surrendering three runs (0 earned) on nine hits over four and one third innings on the mound.  Fordyce struck out two and walked two before Frank Russo Jr. closed out the final two and two third innings.  Russo allowed one hit and struck out three.

Purchase College on the mound (Game 2): Chad Charney tossed seven innings and allowed four earned runs on four hits.  Charney struck out eight and walked one. 

Game note (Game 2): Old Westbury was out-hit, 10-4, despite Emmanuel Mateo hitting the lone extra base hit.  On the base path, Old Westbury stole five bases and stranded three while Purchase College had one stolen base and left nine on.  In the field, Old Westbury committed two errors and Purchase College had one.  On the mound, Old Westbury struck out five batters and walked two while Purchase College struck out eight and walked one.
