WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS SARAH LAWRENCE

BRONXVILLE, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old
Westbury women's volleyball dropped non-conference opponent Sarah
Lawrence College in three consecutive games (25-21, 25-16, 25-12)
on the road in Bronxville, New York on Wednesday evening. Old
Westbury improves to 3-11 on the season.
Sophomore Siobhan West (Flushing, N.Y.) shined brightest as she
led the offense with 10 assists and four aces while junior Jessica Pozo (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had eight assists and five aces. West
added 10 digs and Pozo smashed four kills to hit .429 on seven
swings. Junior L'oreal Ellington (East Moriches, N.Y.)
sparked the offense as she pounded home seven kills. Old
Westbury's defense was keyed by senior Danielle DeVaul (Binghamton,
N.Y.) with a team-best 15 digs.
Debra DePalma (New Windsor, N.Y.) led a trio of freshman for Old
Westbury with eight assists to go along with four digs and three
service aces. Tonya Miller (Nyack, N.Y.) had six kills and
two blocks as Tynisha George (Medford, N.Y.) totaled five kills and
four aces.
The Green and Ivory return to action on Saturday, September
20th for a Skyline Conference opener against Bard
College at 1:00 p.m. followed by Sage College at 3:00 p.m. at
