OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old
Westbury women's volleyball team concluded the Panther Invitational
with an 0-2 start in conference play after falling to Mount Saint
Vincent College, 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 13-25, 11-25) and Farmingdale
State, 3-2 (21-25, 24-26, 25-20, 25-16, 12-15). Centenary
College went a perfect 4-0 after defeating Mount Saint Vincent, Old
Westbury, Centenary and St. Joseph's-Brooklyn to bring home the
Panther Invitational Championship. Siobhan West was named to
the All-Tournament Team after the Panthers (1-8, 0-2) went 1-3 over
the weekend.
Against Mount Saint Vincent, Danielle DeVaul (11 digs, 9
assists) and Siobhan West (10 digs, 6 assists). Jessica Pozo
had a strong defensive showing with a team-high 17 digs as Serena McGrath chipped in with 10. Tynisha George added nine kills
to lead the Panthers and Tonya Miller had five.
Siobhan West posted a double-double (18 assists, 16 digs) to
lead the Panther in a tough loss against Farmingdale State.
West added four service aces while the Panthers received
outstanding efforts from Danielle DeVaul (10 digs, 8 service aces,
7 kills), Tynisha George (14 digs, 9 kills, 6 service aces) and
Jessica Pozo (15 digs, 6 kills, 5 service aces). Serena McGrath had eight digs as Tonya Miller registered six kills.
