PANTHERS BATTLE KEAN TO SCORELESS DRAW

Old Westbury at Kean Boxscore

UNION, NJ (www.oldwestburypanters.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team battled the Kean Cougars to a stalemate in 110 minutes of scoreless soccer at Kean Alumni Stadium on Saturday evening in Union, New Jersey.  The Panthers move to 7-5-1 on the season while Kean now stands at 5-5-3. 

Kean outshot Old Westbury 23-11 in regulation.  The Panthers and Cougars struggled to get into a groove on the offensive side of the pitch as they were evenly matched throughout the overtime periods, with each team notching four shots in both overtimes.  Kean also held an 11-6 advantage in corner kicks.    

In goal, sophomore William Montenegro (Brentwood, NY) made 16 saves for the Panthers while sophomore Brian Haines (Ridgefield Park, NJ) stopped five shots to preserve the tie for Kean.
