WOMEN'S SOCCER LOSES TO ALBERTUS MAGNUS, 7-1

NEW HAVEN, CT (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) - The SUNY College at
Old Westbury women's soccer team lost to the Albertus Magnus
Falcons, 7-1, in a non-conference match played at Celentano Soccer
Field in New Haven, Connecticut. The Panthers drop to 7-7-1
overall while Albertus Magnus improved to 9-5-2. Sophomore
Keisha Carter (New Rochelle, NY) scored Old Westbury's only goal in
the loss.
Carter's goal was assisted by classmate Cassandra Esposito
(Valley Stream, NY) for her second goal of the season in the
66th minute. Esposito's assist was the fourth of
the season.
Albertus Magnus scored five unanswered goals to open the game
and went into halftime with a 3-0 lead. After Old Westbury's
lone goal, the Falcons tacked on two more goals, handing Old
Westbury their worst defeat of the season.
Junior Sam Gigliotti (Wolcott, CT) led the way for the Falcons
with three goals while sophomore Krystal Quinones (Bridgeport, CT)
finished with two assists and one goal.
In goal, Old Westbury sophomore Jennifer Kupfer (Bellmore, NY)
had eight saves while allowing seven goals. Junior Christina
Oddo (East Haven, CT) held Old Westbury scoreless through the first
half. Freshman Alicia Fernandez (Shelton, CT) saw action in
the second half, tallying one save while allowing one goal.
Albertus Magnus outshot Old Westbury 20-4 for the game, with 10 of
those coming in the first half. Albertus Magnus led 4-0 in
corner kicks.
