OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) - The SUNY College at
Old Westbury men's soccer team improved to 9-8-1 on the season
thanks to a 3-0 shutout over Brooklyn College in non-conference
action on Sunday afternoon at Panther Park. Brooklyn fell to
4-10 on the season.
Senior Conor McKeon (Rockville Centre, NY) put Old Westbury on
the boar at the 11:24 mark of the game with his fourth goal of the
season with the assist going to classmate Fabian Santibanez (Oyster
Bay, NY), for his 10th helper of the
season.
Santibanez netted his team-best 10th goal of the
season at 64:02 thanks to an assist by junior Ugur Kahveci (North
Babylon, NY), his first assist of the season. Freshman Omer Brown (Queens Village, NY) tacked on an insurance goal in the
78th minute of play off a pass from Santibanez.
Brown's goal was the first of his career while Santibanez tallied
his team-best 11th assist of the season.
Sophomore William Montenegro (Brentwood, NY) was solid in net
for Old Westbury, improving his record to 3-7-1 with his
team-leading second shutout. Montenegro was forced to make
two saves while freshman Anthony Sideris (Astoria, NY) made eight
saves in a losing effort for Brooklyn. Old Westbury outshot
Brooklyn 22-10 for the game while earned five corner kicks to one
for Brooklyn.
