- The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's volleyball team
extended their winning streak to four matches after defeating
non-conference foe, Lehman College in straight sets at the APEX
Center on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-22, 25-23,
26-24.
Sophomore Kristina Giordano (Huntington Station, NY) led all
Panthers with seven kills. Sophomore Tynishia George
(Medford, NY) and freshman Shari Quiles (Bronx, NY) were tops in
the dig department with 11 each while Giordano added 10 to go along
with 13 assists to post her team-leading third double-double of the
season. Sophomore Tonya Miller (Nyack, NY) led the Panthers
in blocking, totaling two solo blocks and two block assists.
As a team, Old Westbury hit .141 with 30 total kills and 17
errors in 92 total attacks. Old Westbury's best hitting came
in the second set with 11 kills and four errors in 28 total attacks
for .250 hitting percentage.

Old Westbury will host a Skyline Conference quad-match on Saturday,
October 10th at the Clark Athletic Center. The
Panthers will open with Maritime at 11 a.m. followed by Purchase at
