NEW YORK, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury
women's volleyball team (2-9) played a good match against Baruch
College (7-3) on the road at the ARC Arena, but it would not be
enough as the Bearcats down the Panthers in three games by scores
of 19-25, 14-25 and 22-25.
Sophomore Kristina Giordano (Huntington Station, N.Y.) finished
the night with 12 assists, two service aces and five digs, while
junior Ashley Greene (Bay Shore, N.Y.) registered a team-best six
kills and three service aces to go with one solo block and two
block assists. Freshman Tinamarie French (North Babylon,
N.Y.) recorded four kills and led the team with seven digs as
classmate Shakira Canty (Troy, N.Y.) added five digs.
STATEN ISLAND AND MARITIME NEXT FOR THE
PANTHERS: Old Westbury travels to Staten Island on
Saturday, Sept. 19 for a tri-match. The Panthers will take on
Staten Island at 12 p.m. followed by Maritime at 1:30
