SEPTEMBER 21, 2009

Old Westbury vs. City Tech Boxscore

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team registered a pair of goals from junior Roland White (Baldwin, NY) along with a pair of assists from senior Fabian Santibanez (Oyster Bay, NY) to cruise to its second straight victory as the Panthers defeated City Tech, 4-0, in action at Panther Park on Monday afternoon.  With the win, Old Westbury draws even at 4-4 on the year while the Yellow Jackets dropped to 1-6 with the loss.

Old Westbury put the game away before the break as the Panthers found the back of the net two times in the first 45 minutes.  Roland White connected on the game-winner in the 15th minute as he converted the score after receiving touches from junior Daniel Lepe (Hempstead, NY) and Fabian Santibanez for the first goal of the match.  White followed with his second score of the match in the 37th minute off a feed by freshman Brian Hanley (East Islip, NY).

Hanley got into the scoring mix at the 45:45 mark as Santibanez found him for his first career goal.  Santibanez, who added an assist on the play, registered his fifth helper of the season.  Old Westbury controlled the pace the rest of the game as the Yellow Jackets did not threaten to break through on the scoreboard.  Freshman Donny Alerte (Brooklyn, NY) put the finishing touches on the win as he connected for his second goal of the season in the 62nd minute.

Junior Darian Bryan (Elmont, NY) picked up the victory for Old Westbury, recording two saves in 66 minutes of work to combine with freshman Jonathan Aiola (Plainview, NY) for the shutout.  Aiola made two saves in 24 minutes in between the pipes.  Sophomore Ariel Mejia (Queens, NY) took the loss for City Tech after allowing four goals while making two stops.

Freshman Brian Orozco (North Babylon, NY) and classmate Anthony Cardenia (Flushing, NY) each recorded a shot on goal for Old Westbury, as the Panthers out-shot City Tech, 14-7.
