OLD WESTBURY, NY
(www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer freshman Thomas Manz scored in the 97th minute of play to lift the Panthers to a 3-2 overtime win over the City Tech Yellow Jackets Monday evening at the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex (Baseball Field). With the win, OW improved to 11-6 overall while CT falls to 5-5-2.

Old Westbury opened the scoring in the eighth minute as Hansel Riddock scored off a feed from classmate Thomas Manz to put the Panthers up 1-0. City Tech responded less than three minutes later when Juan Mendoza hooked up with Carl Michel for the score past OW keeper Pablo Diaz at 9:43. Less than a minute later the Yellow Jackets took the lead as Mark Vincent netted the penalty kick goal past Diaz.

The score would stay that way until Hansel Riddock tied the game up by firing home his first career multi-score game off an assist from Scott Madocks at 47:57. In overtime, Steven Greene slotted a pass to Thomas Manz, who then connected on his third goal of the season in fashion, sending a bicycle kick past City Tech's Nelson Restrepo for the game-winner.

Darian Bryan logged 51:41 in the net for OW to pick up the win in relief of Pablo Diaz, who allowed two goals and made two saves. City Tech's Nelson Restrepo made 14 stops in a losing effort. OW held the shot advantage, 35-12 and the edge in corner kicks, 5-0.

FARMINGDALE STATE RAMS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to action on Thursday (Oct. 21), taking on the Farmingdale State Rams in a Skyline Conference showdown at Panther Park. Panthers and Rams kick-off at 4 p.m. in Old Westbury, New York. Prior to the match, senior Darian Bryan, Victor Farfan, Andrew Holder and Scott Madocks will be honored during the annual Senior Day presentation for their commitment to Old Westbury Athletics.
