www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's volleyball team swept through the Maritime Privateers on the road Tuesday evening by a score of 25-8, 25-22, 25-5, improving to 18-7 overall and 5-1 in Skyline Conference play. Maritime dipped to 0-16 on the season and 0-7 against the Skyline.
Junior
Tynisha George led the way with nine kills, while
Kristina Giordano recording a .667 hitting percentage with six kills in nine swings and no errors, and
Ashley Greene registered seven. Giordano added 20 assists and 10 digs to go along with five aces to notch her ninth double-double of the season.
Kimberly Catania served up a career-best five aces followed by
Ashley Greene and
Tynisha George, adding two aces apiece. George and Catania also chipped in with seven and six digs, respectively. OW recorded two blocks in the match, led by
Tanaya Vinson with one.
Maritime was led by Donna Pellegrino, Natalie Jackson and Shauna Ebanks, who paced the Privateers with six digs apiece.
FARMINGDALE STATE RAMS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to action on Thursday (Oct. 21) for a Skyline Conference battle on the road with the Farmingdale State Rams. Panthers and Rams are slated for a 7 p.m. first serve in Farmingdale, New York.
