OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 Skyline Conference loss to visiting Farmingdale State Rams Thursday evening at Panther Park in the 2010 regular season home finale. The heartbreaking loss put a damper on Senior Day for the five Panthers who player their final regular season home game. OW fell to 11-7 overall and 6-3 in conference play while Farmingdale State improved to 8-9-1 and 6-3, respectively.

OW suffered their third blank sheet of the season today with Farmingdale State's Ryan Lang put the Rams up 1-0 in the 38th minute for the eventual game-winner. Ryan Hartman was credited with the assist on Lang's game-winner.

Old Westbury outshot Farmingdale State, 21-8, including 9-5 in shot on goal, but could not get the equalizer. The Rams held the advantage in corner kicks, 7-1. Hansel Riddock and Victor Farfan paced OW with three shots apiece. Ricky Meschkow came away with the win for the Rams, earning the nine save shutout. On the other end, Darian Bryan allowed the lone goal and made four saves for the Panthers.

Prior to the game, seniors Darian Bryan, Victor Farfan, Andrew Holder, Ugur Kahveci and Scott Madocks were honored for their dedication to SUNY College at Old Westbury Athletics.

PURCHASE PANTHERS UP NEXT FOR THE OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 23), taking on the Purchase Panthers in a Skyline Conference showdown in Purchase, New York. The “Battle of the Panthers” is slated to kick-off at 1 p.m.
