www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's volleyball team's run at their first Skyline Conference Championship came to an end on Saturday as they were eliminated in three sets by the NYU-Poly Fighting Blue Jays (19-19) in the semifinals Saturday hosted by Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York. OW stands at a program best 24-11 overall record and will now wait on a possible ECAC Championship Tournament bid.
Tonya Miller led the way for OW with five kills and two blocks while
Kimberly Catania scooped up a team-high 14 digs.
Kristina Giordano and
Tynisha George followed with 13 and 11 digs, respectively.
Ashley Greene served up two service aces to pace Old Westbury while Giordano dished out six assists, ending her double-digit assist streak at 34 matches.
Corey Loupee dished out a match-high 22 assists and Nicole Beirtbart added 14 and 11 digs to pace the Fighting Blue Jays. Meredith Shipman nailed down 15 kills and scooper 12 digs to notch the doube-doube. Shipman also totaled a match-high three aces.
