Men’s Soccer notch road win; Ramapo up next for OW

(www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer freshman Christopher Barbosa scored the games only goal to lead Old Westbury to a 1-0 win over the FDU-Florham Devils, Saturday. The win gives Old Westbury a 3-2 record on the season while FDU-Florham fell to 2-3.

After a scoreless first half, Barbosa found the back of the net in the 85th minute on a flick backwards from Donny Alerte.

OW keeper Darian Bryan kept FDU-Florham off the board, facing 11 shots and recording eight saves in posting his second shutout of the season (9th of career). Tim Kirk recorded nine stops in goal for FDU-Florham.

Old Westbury had a 15-11 edge in shots for the game and 7-6 in corner kicks. Victor Farfan led the way for Old Westbury with three shots on goal and Josh Corpus had three for the Devils.

RAMAPO ROADRUNNERS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury returns to action in non-conference against the Ramapo Roadrunners on Wednesday, September 15 in Mahwah, New Jersey. Panthers and Roadrunners kick-off at 4 p.m.
