www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's soccer team gave up six first half goals and was unable to mound a comeback as the New Jersey City Gothic Knights down OW 8-1 Saturday afternoon at the NJCU Liberty Cup in Jersey City, New Jersey. With the loss the Panthers drop to 1-4 on the season while the Gothic Knights improve to 4-1.

Jarelis Torres were named to 2010 NJCU Liberty Cup All-Tourney Team.
Gabrielle Clarke put the Gothic Knights on the score board first with an unassisted goal 5:01 into the match. Ashley Cunha uncorked a blast past OW keeper
Jennifer Kupfer from 35 yards out to put NJCU up 2-0.
Cassandra Esposito responded with OW's lone goal at the 8:26 mark, unassisted. Esposito drilled the ball off outstretched fingertips of NJCU keeper Laura Robinson. Ashley Cunha responded with her second score of the game at 9:18.
Julia Caseres scored in the 18th and 35th minutes and Jennifer Albuja scrored at 18:14 to send the Gothic Knights into the half with a 6-1 advantage. NJCU would tack on two more goals in the second stanza, both scores by Julia Caseres to give her four goals on the day.
NJCU held a 24-6 shot advantage and drew even with OW in corner kicks, 1-1.
Jennifer Kupfer made eight saves in goal for the Panthers while Laura Robinson had three.
MOUNT SAINT MARY KNIGHTS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury returns to action against the Mount Saint Mary Knights to open Skyline Conference play on Saturday, September 18 at Panther Park. Panthers and Knight kick-off at 1 p.m. for OW's home opener.
