George Villalta scored the lone goal for the Panthers. The loss moves Old Westbury to 4-9-1 while Briarcliffe improves to 10-1-1.
Briarcliffe looked to get on the board early when Erik Lopez finished a cross from David Panchano with his head to give the Seahawks and early 1-0 lead in the 12th minute. Briarcliffe doubled its advantage at 23:31 on an own goal and struck again 20 seconds later on an unassisted score by Panchano. The Panthers got on the board in the 44th minute when a pass from

George Villalta, who put a right-footed shot past the goalie to cut into the deficit, 3-1. Oscar Corado delivered the final goal in the 56th minute on an assist by Jean Delance to put Briarcliffe up 4-1.
Old Westbury was outshot by a mark of 22-6. Briarcliffe also held a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Pablo Diaz made several clutch saves for the Panthers, racking up a personal best nine save on the day. Gustavo Cinfuentes made one save for Briarcliffe.
SAGE GATORS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the pitch for a Skyline Conference battle on the road, taking on the Sag Gators on Sunday (Oct. 16) in Troy, New York. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m. from Albany Academy for Girls and Boys.
