OLD WESTBURY, NY (
www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to the Farmingdale State Rams in a Skyline Conference match in the regular season finale for both teams. With the loss, Old Westbury's record falls to 9-7 overall and 6-2 in conference action while Farmingdale State improves to 13-3-3 and 7-1, respectively.
After playing through a scoreless first half, Farmingdale State score the first goal of the game at 74:35 when Katrina Cererizzo's shot found its way past OW's goalkeeper to put the Rams on top, 1-0. Jamie Smith assisted on the initial goal. Just 2:22 later, Cererizzo was awarded a penalty kick and capitalized on it, doubling the Rams' advantage, 2-0. Moments later,
Morgan Zuhoski registered her first career goal in the 84th minute as she blasted a free kick past into the back of the net past Farmingdale State goalie Amanda Maass. The 2-1 score held to the 90th minute and the Rams grabbed the road victory to earn a bye in the first round of the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament.

Caitlin Thomas made a game-high six saves in defeat. Amanda Maass stopped three shots and allowed one ball to get past her in the win. For the game the Rams had advantages in shots (16-4), shots on goal (7-4) and corner kicks (9-1).
SKYLINE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT AGAINST PURCHASE UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the pitch for the opening round of the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament at home, taking on the Purchase Panthers on Saturday (Oct. 29) in Old Westbury, New York.
