OLD WESTBURY, NY (
www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team fell by the score of 7-0 Wednesday evening to the visiting Ramapo Roadrunners at Panther Park. The loss moved Old Westbury to 0-4 on the season while Ramapo improved to 4-1.
Old Westbury's opening 45 minutes proved to be the best half of the season as the Panthers went into the break with a scoreless tie. Ramapo held a slight edge in first half shots, 6-5.
Seven different Roadrunners found the back of the net in the second-half in leading Ramapo to victory. Andrew Willcox scored the eventual game-winning goal just 1:35 into the second-half. Willcox's goal was assisted by Jonathan Yazo, who also assisted of Ramapo's goal by Kevin Carbone in the 72nd minute to put them ahead, 5-0. Jaivon Palmer, Rob Sananiello, Dan Boffa, Andrew Kirshteya and Anthony Pasciolla all chipped in with goals.
Ramapo held an 18-2 advantage on shots on goal, including 27-9 in total shots.
German Parodis and
Bryan Bolivar accounted for Old Westbury's shots on target. Ramapo also recorded an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.
Pablo Diaz and
Omer Brown split time in net, making eight and three saves, respectively for Old Westbury. David LoBue made two saves and earned the shutout for Ramapo.
YESHIVA MACCABEES UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the pitch for a conference opener at home, taking on the Yeshiva Macabees on Friday (Sept. 16) in Old Westbury, New York. Kick-off is slated for 11 a.m. from Panther Park.
