OLD WESTBURY, NY
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team earned its first win in the Jamie San Filippo era on Friday as the Panthers exploded for a 4-0 victory over the visiting Yeshiva Maccabees in the conference opener. The win improves OW to 1-4 on the season while Yeshiva fell to 0-5.

Old Westbury broke the scoring ice in the 22nd minute when Chris Martelli scored the Panthers first goal of the season. Michael Bayne assisted on the eventual game-winning goal, the first of his career. OW distanced itself further in the 42nd minute when Bryan Bolivar knocked in his first-career goal, assisted by Tana Weeks.

Leading 2-0, the Panthers continued to pound away in the second half. In the 51st minute Steven Burgos secured a rebound and beat YU keeper. The final Panther goal came at the 79:12 mark as Scott Carey tallied his first career goal off an assist by German Parodis.

For the match, OW outshot Yeshiva 56-8, including 19-1 of its shots on frame. Old Westbury also held a 9-3 advantage in the corner. In goal, Old Westbury's Pablo Diaz posted his first shutout of the season and third of his career. He tallied one save. Adam Barel made 15 stops in net for Yeshiva in defeat.

HUNTER HAWKS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the pitch for a non-conference showdown at home, taking on the Hunter Hawks on Sunday (Sept. 18) in Old Westbury, New York. Kick-off is slated for 3:30 p.m. from Panther Park.
