OSWEGO, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team (0-2) lost 2-0 to the D'Youville Spartans (1-1) Saturday afternoon at Laker Soccer Field in the consolation game of the Oswego State Tournament. Tom Barlow and Josh Pfunter registered the D'Youville scores and Old Westbury goalkeeper
Pablo Diaz made three saves in defeat. Sophomore defender
Michael Bayne was named to the All-Tournament team.
It wasn't until early in the second when when D'Youville broke the scoring ice. Tom Barlow fired a laser off a free kick and beat
Pablo Diaz for the initial score in the 51st minute. Later on in the second half, the Spartans kept up the pressure and doubled their lead in the 76th minute. Shawn Powers sent a pass over to Josh Pfuntner, who found the back of the net to give D'Youville a two goal lead.
For the game, both teams registered five shots on goal while D'Youville outshot Old Westbury 15-10. OW held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. D'Youville's Matt Smith made five saves to earn the shutout
