OLD WESTBURY, NY (
www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) –The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's volleyball suffered a 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 20-25, 21-25) setback to the visiting Lehman Lightning in non-conference action Tuesday evening from the Clark Athletic Center. The loss moves Old Westbury to 7-14 on the season while Lehman improved to 8-5.
Kimberly Catania captained the offense with 28 assists and three aces in addition to 12 digs, notching her 16th double-double of the season.
Jocelyn Small nailed down 14 kills followed by
Fareeda Roushdy's nine and six from
Jennifer Jean.
Allie Giancola scooped up 32 digs while
Jennifer Jean (19 digs) and
Samantha Howley (11 digs) registered double-digit dig totals. Jo-Marie Aquino and Cari English both led Lehman with 17 and 13 kills, respectively. Imani Dubois chipped in with 19 assists and Julia Mercado had 15 digs for the Lightning.
Lehman held the advantage in hitting, .297 to .056 and aces (10-7), while Old Westbury edged Lehman in kills, 39-38.
HUNTER HAWKS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the court for a non-conference battle against the Hunter Hawks on Thursday (Oct. 4) in New York, New York. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. from the Hunter Sportsplex.
