PURCHASE, NY (
www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) –The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's soccer team scored two second-half goals to sneak past the Purchase Panthers, 2-1, in Skyline Conference road action Saturday afternoon in Purchase, New York. The win improves Old Westbury (8-9) to 5-3 in conference action as Purchase (7-8) fell to 4-4.
Purchase broke the scoring ice in the 14th minute when Abigail Katz scored an unassisted goal for her 13th tally of the season. Both teams would play evenly over the next 66 minutes until
JoAnna Kettell's 11th goal of the season knotted the match at one all.
Morgan Zuhoski spotted Kettell off a free kick to earn her fifth assist of the season. Under two minutes later, Zuhoski provided Old Westbury with her second game-winner of the season to lead the visiting Panthers to victory.
Caitlin Thomas made five stops in goal for Old Westbury while Purchase's Kristy Colangelo recorded 10 saves in defeat. Old Westbury held the advantage in shots (15-13), and on target (12-6), while Purchase took four corners, compared to OW's two.
