WOMEN’S SOCCER TEMPERS MOUNT SAINT VINCENT SCORING ATTACK, WINS 2-0

Caitlin Thomas records seventh career shutout to break program record

GARDEN CITY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – Morgan Zuhoski provided the SUNY College at Old Westbury women's soccer team Saturday with the game-winning goal as the Panthers posted a 2-0 Skyline Conference win over the visiting Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins from St. Paul's Recreation Complex.   Old Westbury (5-8) improves to 2-2 in conference play while Mount Saint Vincent (5-6) fell to 1-3.

Possession was dominated by the Panthers for the vast majority of the match, but it wasn't until the 70th minute that Old Westbury was able to break through.  Morgan Zuhoski received a pass from Anna Noens and redirected it past Mount Saint Vincent goalie Marni O'Shea for her first career game-winner.  Marissa Brightman doubled Old Westbury's advantage in the 90th minute for her first career goal.  Zuhoski was credited with her third assist of the season after setting up the scoring opportunity.

Caitlin Thomas notched her seventh career shutout; breaking Chynna Pitlock's program record after posting a career-high nine saves.  Marni O'Shea made six saves and was saddled with Mount Saint Vincent's loss.

Old Westbury held the advantage in shots (22-11) and corner kicks (8-0).
