OSWEGO, NY (
www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at Oswego State on Friday night in both team's season opener at Laker Soccer Field in the opening round of the Oswego State Tournament. Old Westbury returns back to the pitch on Saturday for the consolation match against the Alfred Saxons at 1 p.m. in Oswego, New York.
The Panthers held the Lakers scoreless in the first 52 minutes but Oswego State turned it on just after halftime. Oswego State's Ryan Purdy scored in the 53rd minute as the Lakers grabbed momentum in the second half. Oswego State added insurance goals in the 68th, 77th and 85th minutes to secure the victory en route to marching into the championship against Medaille at 3 p.m..
Old Westbury was led offensively by sophomore
Tana Weekes, who fired one shot, pacing the Panthers in the shot column. Old Westbury was outshot 5-1 in the first half. Oswego State recorded 14 shots with eight on goal.

Marcelo Guardado allowed all four goals while making four saves. PJ Goodwin played between the pipes for the Lakers and recorded a clean sheet.
ALFRED SAXONS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the pitch for the consolation match of the Oswego State Tournament on Saturday, taking on the Alfred Saxons in Oswego, New York. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m. from Laker Soccer Field.
