www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team trailed 1-0 at halftime and were unable to recover in the second half Wednesday afternoon in Mahwah, New Jersey, falling 3-0 to the Ramapo Roadrunners. With the loss, Old Westbury now stands at 0-6 on the season while Ramapo improved to 3-2.
Joe Kane opened the scoring with a goal in the 23rd minute, assisted by Dan Walsh, giving Ramapo and early 1-0 lead. Old Westbury held Ramapo scoreless over the next 43 minutes until Rob Santaniello doubled Ramapo's advantage, making it 2-0. Abanoub Bestawros tacked on an insurance goal in the 74th minute to put Ramapo up 3-0.
Peter Sicardi stopped a career-high 10 saves in goal for Old Westbury as Ramapo's Brian Petrunik made three saves for the shutout victory. Ramapo outshot Old Westbury 30-5, including a 13-3 edge in shots on goal.
