www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team dropped its seventh straight decision after a 6-1 non-conference road loss to New Paltz on Saturday. The Panthers fell to 0-7 on the season while New Paltz improved to 3-2-1.
The Hawks wasted little time, scoring their first goal in the second minute. Mato Cordini's score at the 1:24 mark gave New Paltz an early lead. Cordini doubled the New Paltz advantage in the sixth minute with his second score of the game. New Paltz tacked on another goal before the half after Lane Harrison increased the Hawk lead to three.
In the second-half, Joseph Hughes and Alec Johnson both scored for New Paltz before
Tana Weekes scored his first goal of the season in the 73rd minute for Old Westbury. Robert Vandy closed out the scoring for New Paltz with a late goal in the 86th minute.
New Paltz held a 17-10 shot advantage, including a 9-4 edge on target.
Michael Mosher paced Odl Westbury with four shots, with two landing on target.
Marcelo Guardado made six stops for Old Westbury as New Paltz's Steven Domino tallied three saves.
BARUCH BEARCATS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the pitch for a non-conference battle on Monday afternoon in a non-conference battle, taking on the visiting Baruch Bearcats in Old Westbury, New York. Kick-off is slated for 4 p.m. from Panther Park.
