www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team came up just one goal short of its opponent as they fell in a nail biter by a 3-2 final against the visiting Baruch Bearcats on Monday afternoon from Panther Park. The loss moves Old Westbury to 0-8 on the season while Baruch improved to 1-4-1.
Jon Kerby scored his first career goal, giving Old Westbury their first lead of the year with a score at the 28:50 mark. Baruch's Oren Kozlowski delivered the equalizer at 31:45 and then the go ahead goal at 32:36.
Christopher Peralta scored in the 70th minute for a 3-1 Baruch advantage. Old Westbury's
Tana Weekes knocked in a header at 89:47 mark to make it a 3-2 game, assisted by
Andrew Moorman.
Baruch held a 12-11 edge in shots, including 8-6 on goal.
Marcelo Guardado made five stops for Old Westbury. Helder Correia, Peter DiBona and Guy Sharav combined to make four saves in Baruch's victory.
MOUNT SAINT MARY UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the pitch for a non-conference battle on Saturday afternoon, taking on the Mount Saint Mary Knights in Newburgh, New York. Kick-off is slated for 2:30 p.m. from Kaplan Field.
