OLD WESTBURY, NY
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team played the York Cardinals to a 0-0 draw Monday afternoon, when the two teams met for a non-conference matchup at Panther Park.
The Panthers outshot the Cardinals by the count of 16-8 in a contest that was called in the 71st minute due to heavy rainfall and coinciding poor pitch conditions.

Alec Adeclat, in his first start of the season, led the way for Old Westbury, firing four shots on target. Skipper Michael Bayne added another two on net, one of which nearly found the back of the net in the first half.

Panther's keeper Marcelo Guardado made five saves in his fifth career shutout. It was the second time in two games the senior was able to grab the cleansheet.

Additional bright spots for Old Westbury were the play of fullback Chris Knox and midfielder Kosi Ikwuazom. Despite Ikwuazom playing out of position as a center half, the junior did well to suppress the Cardinals' attack.

NYU-POLY FIGHTING BLUE JAYS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury looks to grab its second-consecutive conference victory when they host the NYU-Poly Fighting Blue Jays on Wednesday (Oct. 9). Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. from Panther Park.
