OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team settled for a 1-1 tie against the visiting Maritime Privateers in a Skyline Conference opener Saturday afternoon from Panther Park.  The Panthers now become 3-3-1 on the season and 0-0-1 in Skyline Conference play, while the Privateers move to 3-3-2 overall and 0-0-1 in conference.

The Panthers struck first with their lone goal coming in the 22nd minute of play on a goal from Michael Bayne which was assisted by Anthony Ippolito to take the 1-0 lead.  The goal was Bayne's second goal of the season, which set a personal best for the senior defender.  Moments before halftime, Maritime scored the equalizer in the 38th minute as Patrick McCarty found Matt Ciruzzi to tie the score at 1-1.

Defense was solid on both sides to force two overtimes.  Old Westbury outshot Maritime 4-1 in overtime play but neither team could find the back of the net.  At the end of two overtimes, the score stood at 1-1 to give the Panthers and Privateers a tie on their records.
