OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team gave up the game-winning goal in the 78th minute in a 2-1 Skyline Conference setback at home Tuesday afternoon to the Farmingdale State Rams from Panther Park.  With the loss, Old Westbury (7-6-0) moves to 2-3-0 in conference play while Farmingdale State (6-8-1) improved to 3-2-1.

Adan Cruz-Velasquez put Old Westbury on the board first with a breakaway goal at 3:40 courtesy of John Ramos' first-career assist for an early 1-0 Panther lead.  Cruz-Velasquez netted his third-goal of the season.  Farmingdale State matched Old Westbury at 19:25 when Samuele Riva put home his own rebound for the equalizer.  Both teams would settle for a tie at the half, despite Farmingdale State outshooting Old Westbury, 19-3.

Riva answered again at 77:56 to finish Anthony Leonick's cross with his head to score Farmingdale State's game-winner.

Kelvin Rivera (3-3-0) made save-after-save for Old Westbury and finished with a career-high 14 stops in between the Panthers' pipes.  Jonathan Baumer (2-1-0) made four saves to claim the Rams victory.

In the end, Farmingdale State held the advantage in shots (38-7), shots on goal (17-5) and corner kicks (10-1).

MARITIME PRIVATEERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury travels to Throggs Neck, New York for a Skyline Conference showdown on Saturday (Oct. 18) against the Maritime Privateers from Reinhart Field at 1 p.m.
