@OW_Panthers Women’s Soccer earns sixth-seed at Skyline Conference Championship

Old Westbury will take on No. 3 Sage on Saturday in the first round


OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - Following its 2-1 regular-season finale victory against St. Joseph's (L.I.), the SUNY College at Old Westbury women's soccer team wrapped up the sixth seed at the 2014 Skyline Conference Championship.  The Skyline Conference Championship will begin Saturday, November 1.

Old Westbury will take on third-seeded Sage in its first round matchup on Saturday from Albany College of Pharmacy Athletics Field in Albany, New York at 1 p.m.  The other first round game kicks off at 1 p.m. in Riverdale, New York, when No. 5 St. Joseph's (L.I.) travels to take on No. 4 Mount Saint Vincent.

Farmingdale State earned the top seed for the six-team conference tournament and received a bye for the first round and will face the winner of No. 4 Mount Saint Vincent / No. 5 St. Joseph's (L.I.) in the semifinal round in Farmingdale, New York on Wednesday, November 5.  Mount Saint Mary was named the second seed and will take on the winner of No. 3 Sage / No. 6 Old Westbury at home on November 5. 

Championship Saturday will be held at Purchase College on November 8 at 11 a.m. from Purchase College Soccer Field in conjunction with the Skyline Fall Festival. 

The winner of the Skyline Conference Championship will receive an automatic berth in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
