Old Westbury hosted Mount Saint Vincent and Mount Saint Mary at home for Saturday’s season finale

OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's volleyball team closed out the 2014 campaign by hosting a Skyline Conference tri-match Saturday against the visiting Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins and Mount Saint Mary Knights from Clark Athletic Center.  Mount Saint Vincent (13-14, 6-2) took the opener with 25-5, 25-7, 25-3 set scores against Old Westbury, before Mount Saint Mary (18-16, 7-2 Skyline) dealt Old Westbury (2-20, 2-7 Skyline) a three-set (25-8, 25-9, 25-7) loss to close out the season. 

In the opener against Mount Saint Vincent, Gerlande Lucas' two kills, three digs and one block assist paced Old Westbury.  Rayn Brown added two assists, two digs, one service ace and one block assist while Nicole DeCola chipped in with three digs.

Maria Leineweber nailed down a match-high six kills while Kristine Roman served up 11 aces to pace Mount Saint Vincent.  Nicole Henderson contributed 19 assists and nine service aces.      

The Panthers hit -.276 on the match as Mount Saint Vincent hit at a .432 clip.  Old Westbury outdug Mount Saint Vincent 28-17 as the Dolphins served up 28 aces to Old Westbury's one.
Against Mount Saint Mary, Lucas and Fareeda Roushdy each paced the Panthers with three kills while Olivia O'Keefe followed with two.  Brown dished out five assists and served up one ace as O'Keefe had the other.  Brown also led Old Westbury with five digs as Roushdy added one solo block.

Katie Lynch registered a match-high four kills for Mount Saint Mary as Marissa Howlett led the way with seven service aces.  Claire Scully directed the Knights' offense with four assists. 

In the end, Old Westbury hit -.179 to Mount Saint Mary's .243.  Both teams drew even in digs (16-16) while the Knights served up 26 aces compared to Old Westbury's two.
