Guidice Scores Twice on Baruch for @OW_Panthers Men’s Soccer

OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team moved to 2-1 on the season at home after Tuesday's 3-2 non-conference loss to the Baruch Bearcats from Panther Park.  With the loss, Old Westbury moves to 4-3-0 on the season while Baruch climbs to 4-3-0.

Baruch jumped out to an early two-goal advantage in the opening minutes with Armando Aguilar scoring first at 2:23, followed by William Rosales' goal at 4:54 to double Baruch's advantage.  Old Westbury regrouped and responded at 6:46 with Dominick Guidice's team-leading fifth goal of the season to slice the deficit in half.  Angel Velez found Guidice for the breakaway score to record his fourth assist of the season. 

Baruch took a 2-1 lead into the half as Old Westbury held a 9-8 edge in shots through 45 minutes.

Aguilar broke the second-half scoring ice at 55:20 for what proved to be the game-winning goal off a cross from Xhulio Xhaferraj, that gave Baruch a 3-1 lead.  Adan Cruz-Velasquez then found Guidice at 66:50 to close out the scoring books with his second-career multi goal game.  Guidice has now racked up points in five straight games.

In the end, Baruch held the advantage in shots (21-12), shots on target (10-9) and in corner kicks (4-3).

Peter Sicardi (four saves) and Kelvin Rivera (three saves) each played 45 minutes in goal for Old Westbury while Peter DiBona made seven saves to earn Baruch's win.   

SARAH LAWRENCE GRYPHONS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to Skyline Conference action on Saturday (Sept. 20) against the Sarah Lawrence Gryphons at Randall's Island Park Field #10 at 8:30 p.m.
