OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's volleyball team put together a late push in the third set, but were unable to come away with the victory, falling in three sets (25-6, 25-11, 25-10) at home Monday evening to the Staten Island Dolphins in non-conference action. 

Ruth Vargas led Old Westbury (0-8) with five kills, three aces and one block.  Fareeda Roushdy followed with four kills and one block while Elizabeth Ozuna directed the offense with four assists.  Olivia O'Keefe scooped up seven digs as Vargas and Rayn Brown each added four.

Jonaldy Edouard and Pola Poskrobko led Staten Island (6-6) with six kills each while Poskrobko and Brittany Minondo each served up four of Staten Island's 21 aces.  Minondo captained the Dolphin offense with 18 assists and Selma Kolenovic chipped in with five digs. 

Staten Island hit .216 on 20 kills and nine attacking errors in 51 total swings while Old Westbury hit -.098 on 13 kills with 18 attacking errors in 51 total attacks.  
 
MEDGAR EVERS COUGARS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to action on Tuesday (September 30) against the Medgar Evers Cougars in non-conference action from Cougars Cave at 7 p.m. in Brooklyn, New York.
