OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's soccer team picked up a 1-0 non-conference victory at home Tuesday afternoon over the Staten Island Dolphins from Panther Park.  With the win, Old Westbury improves to 5-4-1 while sending Staten Island's record to 4-4-1.

Stephanie Maybie netted the game's lone goal at 10:53 to give the Panthers an early lead.  Maybie's  16th goal of the season (conference-leading) was also her 19th career game-winner.  Maybie also finished with 18 shots (Old Westbury single-game record) while breaking Old Westbury's single-season record with 101.

Caitlin Thomas (4-4-1) made five saves in net for Old Westbury to record her 16th career shutout.  Victoria Donegan stopped 18 shots in defeat for Staten Island. 
Old Westbury fired a season-high 43 shots, compared to Staten Island, who took 10.  Old Westbury also held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.  


SAGE GATORS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to Skyline Conference action on Saturday (Oct. 4) against the Sage Gators from the Albany College of Pharmacy Athletics Field at 4 p.m. in Albany, New York.
