Stephanie Maybie fired a match-high seven shots in Friday’s non-conference road action

MADISON, NJ (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) -  The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's soccer team's perfect 2-0 start to the season came to an abrupt end on Friday evening as the Panthers took a 3-0 loss to the FDU-Florham Devils in non-conference road action in Madison, New Jersey.  Old Westbury now stands at 2-1 on the season heading into Tuesday's 4 p.m. non-conference matchup against the Keystone Giants from Panther Park. 

FDU-Florham (2-1) got their first goal in the eighth minute of play as Kristen Fila found Brittni Calleo for an early 1-0 Devil advantage.  Calleo engineered the second goal in the 44th minute to put the Devils up 2-0 heading into intermission.   

The second half brought one more FDU-Florham goal.  In the 82nd minute, Kristina Ragolia found the back of net to close out the scoring books.   

Panther starting netminder, Caitlin Thomas, made five saves in 74:30 of action before Melissa Muller allowed one goal in net over the final 15:30 of play.  Annie George made five save to earn FDU-Florham's clean sheet. 

Old Westbury's offense posted 12 scoring attempts in the game, led by Stephanie Maybie's match-high seven shots (two on goal). 

FDU-Florham held the advantage in shots (16-12), shots on goal (8-5) and corner kicks (12-1).  

KEYSTONE GIANTS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns home on Tuesday (Sept. 9) for a non-conference matchup against the Keystone Giants at 4 p.m. from Panther Park.
