OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team erupted for a season-high eight goals in Monday's 8-1 non-conference victory from Panther Park over the visiting Medgar Evers Cougars.  Old Westbury now jumps out to a 3-0 start on the season, while handing the Cougars a season-opening loss.

Alec Sackey got the Panther offense going early at 5:41 with his second goal of the season, putting home a rebound from Dominick Guidice.  Moments later, Sackey doubled Old Westbury's advantage at 9:12, causing a turnover in the box before dribbling past the Cougars' goalie for his second score of the game with the eventual game-winner.  Guidice then added his team-leading third assist of the season, feeding Brian Schanel at 10:54.  Schanel added his second goal of the season at 14:36, compliments of Jose Gomez for a 4-0 lead.  Schanel then repaid the favor to Guidice at 17:51 with an assist for the freshman's third goal of the season, which tied him for the team lead.

Medgar Evers broke into the scoring column at 19:34 with an own goal, which was deflected off the head of a Panther defender.  Alpha Diallo closed out the first-half scoring books with an unassisted goal at 43:20 for his first goal of the season to give Old Westbury a commanding 6-1 lead.

Richard Cunzo (70:19) and Jorge Rodriguez (88:44) added goals in the second half, with assists going to Rodriguez and Sackey, respectively.

In goal, Peter Sicardi improved to 3-0 on the season after making four saves in the first half before Kelvin Rivera made one in the final 45 minutes to secure the Panther victory.

Kedric Flemius made seven saves and allowed four goals in the final 75:24 in defeat for the Cougars.
