Six different scorers propel @OW_Panthers Women’s Soccer to 8-0 win over Yeshiva

Old Westbury returned back to its winning ways with Sunday’s Skyline Conference road win

BROOKLYN --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) The SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer team saw five different players score as the Panthers defeated the Yeshiva Maccabees 8-0 in Skyline Conference action Sunday morning at Aviator Field in Brooklyn.  With the win, Old Westbury (8-5-0) continues to climb the conference standings with a 5-2-0 record on the season, while Yeshiva (0-7-0) falls to 0-5-0 in league play.     

Old Westbury took a 6-0 lead into intermission after first-half goals by Melissa Outsen (2:51, 31:15), Edania Martinez (8:06), Michelle Ventimiglia (11:45), Sara Bey (32:28) and Alyssa Quick (43:03).  Bey also assisted on Outsen's second game-winning goal of the season in addition to Old Westbury's second and third tallies.  Jessica Tuckruskye was credited with the assist on Outsen's second goal and Outsen earned the helper on Quick's score.       

Tosin Akinfeleye started the second half for the Panthers with back-to-back goals in the 72nd and 78th minutes to stretch to lead to eight.  Martinez registered her third assist of the season to close out the scoring.    

Overall, the Panthers outshot the Maccabees, 36-2, and controlled the corners, 6-0.  

Mary Clark (2-0-0) made two saves in 90 minutes for her second shutout of the season.  Anne Jaffe (0-6-0) stopped 14 shots in defeat for Yeshiva.   


PURCHASE PANTHERS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury returns home for Thursday's (Oct. 22) Skyline Conference showdown against the Purchase Panthers.  The "Battle of the SUNY Panthers" is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. from Panther Park.
