@OW_Panthers Men’s Soccer battles Sage in Skyline Conference road play

Old Westbury closes out non-conference play Monday at Medgar Evers

ALBANY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer suffered a 4-0 Skyline Conference road setback to the Sage Gators on Saturday afternoon from Plumeri Sports Complex in Albany. 

Sage (11-3-2, 7-1-1 Skyline) tested Old Westbury's (4-9-2, 4-3-2 Skyline) defense in the early going, firing five shots to the Panthers' one during the opening 27 minutes of play.  Moments later, Alex Lanza broke the scoring ice in the 36th minute for Sage's game-winning goal.  Sage took a 1-0 lead into intermission. 

Paul Reynoso finished a feed from River Seybolt to double Sage's advantage 59 seconds into second-half play.  Peter Fabrykiewicz scored in the 71st minute and Ryan Fairweather netted Sage's fourth goal in the 77th minute to settle the scoring.   

Tana Weekes took a pair of second-half shots for Old Westbury as Sage finished with a 19-5 edge in shots (11-4 on target).  The Gators also won the battle in the corner, 6-5. 

Peter Sicardi (4-9-2) made seven saves in between Old Westbury's sticks.  TJ Zehner (11-3-2) stopped four shots while combining with Chris Dunham for Sage's 11th clean sheet of the season.   

MEDGAR EVERS COUGARS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury closes out its non-conference schedule on Monday (Oct. 26) when they travel to Aviator Field in Brooklyn to take on the Medgar Evers Cougars at 4 p.m.
