OLD WESTBURY, NY ---
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball fell 3-0 at home Tuesday evening to the New Rochelle Blue Angels, with scores of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-13, in non-conference action from Clark Athletic Center.

New Rochelle (13-4) jumped ahead to an early 8-1 lead in the opening stanza to set the tone for the evening.  The Blue Angels later used a key 8-0 run to take a 19-7 lead.

Sofia Goris served Old Westbury (4-7) to a 2-0 lead to open a seesaw battle during the second set that featured three lead changes.  With Old Westbury clinging to a 7-5 lead, the Blue Angels stormed back with a 10-1 run to go back up for good.  The Panthers fought back but were unable to get within five points.

Melanie Lopez Soto served up one of her two aces on the day to put New Rochelle ahead, 1-0, at the start of the third set.  Chelsey Hoffman then answered with a feed to Rayn Brown that tied the match at 1-1.  From there, New Rochelle used a key 11-4 run to create separation to secure the three-set sweep.

Brown nailed down five kills to pace the Panthers for the seventh-straight game in that department.  Brown and Olivia O'Keefe each collected eight digs, while Shanayia Lloyd and Hoffman followed with six and five, respectively.  Hoffman dished out five assists to go along with four kills and one block.  Brown and Gerlande Lucas each chipped in with a pair of blocking assists.

New Rochelle's Fabiola Padilla Rio had a match-high 13 kills and Tiany Perez Diaz followed with 10 to lead the Blue Angels as the team hit .179 for the match.  Lopez Soto captained the offense with 19 assists and Indigo Flowers added 12.  Perez Diaz recorded six of the team's 15 aces and Padilla Rio scooped up 12 digs.

In the end, Old Westbury totaled 13 kills and hit -.039 as the Blue Angels registered 34 kills.  Both teams racked up three blocks.
