@OW_Panthers Men’s Soccer solidifies No. 3 seed in upcoming Skyline Championship

Old Westbury defeated St. Joseph’s (Brooklyn) 4-0 to earn the No. 3 seed in Saturday's Skyline Conference Championship first-round game

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer will be making a return to the Skyline Conference Championship for the first time since 2011 as the No. 3 seed Saturday afternoon at home.  Old Westbury (11-4-4, 8-2-1 Skyline) used four-goal second half to produce a 4-0 Skyline Conference road win Wednesday afternoon over the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Bears (7-11-0, 4-7-0 Skyline) inside Aviator Field to lock up a meeting with either SUNY Maritime or The Sage Colleges

After an evenly played opening half, Old Westbury broke the scoring ice at 53:01 as James Marchena found Seaton Cole for his team-leading eighth assist of the season to make it a 1-0 game.  The game-winner was Cole's first of the season and second career.  Fabrizio Chamorro then dribbled past the defense to uncork a laser from the top of the box after receiving a pass from Dominick Guidice for his sixth goal of the season to double Old Westbury's advantage 3:39 later.  Old Westbury added an insurance goal in the 69th minute as Marchena slotted another pass to Cole for his his fifth goal of the season to make it a 3-0 game.  With 1:53 remaining, Jon Kerby finished a feed from Chris Agbodoh and Ryan Finnin to settle the 4-0 final.

Mike Warren (10-4-4) made four saves in 69 minutes of action before Kevin Driscoll closed out the remaining minutes with one save to preserve Old Westbury's fourth shutout of the season.

In the end, Old Westbury held the advantage in shots (23-10), shots on goal (11-5) and corner kicks (7-2).
