OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer looked sharp enough Tuesday afternoon to register a 2-1 Skyline Conference home win against the College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (4-7-1, 3-2-0) inside Panther Park.

Old Westbury (5-3-4, 3-1-1) jumped ahead early by converting on its second shot attempt as Seaton Cole headed home a James Marchena corner kick in the ninth minute for the 1-0 lead. Old Westbury would double its advantage in the 31st minute off a Dominick Guidice feed to Fabrizio Chamorro for a one-touch game-winning goal.

The Panther defense held Mount Saint Vincent shotless until Andrew Gomez's blocked attempt at 47:08. Mount Saint Vincent broke through moments later in the 57th minute when Julius Tumukunde finished a run from Guy Horcasitas to slice the Dolphins' deficit in half. Old Westbury's defense regrouped and prevented Mount Saint Vincent from adding to its goal and shot totals.

In the end, Old Westbury held the advantage in shots (16-3), shots on goal (4-1) and corner kicks (8-1).

Panther goalie Mike Warren (5-3-4) was credited with the win while David Melchor stopped two shots in defeat for Mount Saint Vincent.
