@OW_Panthers Women’s Lacrosse close out strong at Bridgewater

Old Westbury returns home March 29 from its two-game road trip to take on Ramapo

BRIDGEWATER, VA --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com)  SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse dropped a 14-2 non-conference road decision Friday afternoon to the Bridgewater (Va.) Eagles from Jopson Field in Bridgewater, Virginia.

Jenna Devilbiss found Kristen Stark 1:30 into play to put the Eagles (5-4) ahead with the early lead.  Annie Sullivan doubled the Eagles' advantage at 24:10 to make it a 2-0 game.  Bridgewater held an 11-0 lead at the half before extending it to 13 with 16:18 remaining. 

Danielle Weir netted her eighth goal of the season to put Old Westbury (1-4) on the board with 15:01 left. 

Moments later, Halle Johnson connected with Natasha Treuman for her team-leading 18th goal to make it a 13-2 game with 10:30 showing on the second-half clock. 

Anna O'Hara's goal at 9:31 settled the 14-2 score. 

Treuman paced Old Westbury with three draw controls while Weir and LaChaye Allen followed with two.  Christine Fernandez tied a career-high with four ground balls to go with three caused turnovers.  Taylor Guarneri caused three turnovers while Sara Bey, Chelsey Hoffman and Courtney Gallagher each added two. 

Ashley Gugliuzzo (1-5) made seven saves in defeat for Old Westbury while Rachel Gruber (5-4) stopped 14 shots to earn the Eagles' win.


RAMAPO ROADRUNNERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns home Tuesday (Mar. 29) for a non-conference battle against the Ramapo Roadrunners at 3 p.m. from Panther Park.
