Gameday Program

OLD WESTBURY, NY ---
(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com)  SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse lost a 18-9 Skyline Conference decision at home Sunday afternoon to the St. Joseph's (L.I.) Golden Eagles (5-4, 2-0 Skyline) from Panther Park.

St. Joseph's took an early 2-0 lead before Sara Bey found Natasha Treuman at 21:31 to slice the Panther (3-7, 1-1 Skyline) deficit in half.  Bey then fed Danielle Weir at 11:28 after the Golden Eagles scored a pair of goals to make it a 4-2 game.  St. Joseph's used a pivotal 5-0 run to go up 9-2.  Old Westbury regrouped as Taylor Guarneri's goal with 3:53 remaining sparked a 4-0 run with goals from Bey, Treuman and Halle Johnson made it a 9-6 game at intermission.

Weir finished a pass from Courtney Gallagher to open the second-half scoring that made it a two-score game with 28:06 remaining.  From there, Kristin Carroll's goal at 27:04 ignited an 8-0 Golden Eagle run for a 10 goal lead, 17-7.  Treuman and Weir both added late goals to settle the scoring.

For the second-consecutive game, Weir finished with a hat trick (fourth of season).  Treuman added three goals and one assist.  Weir, Gallagher, Bey and Johnson each controlled two draws while Guarneri caused a team-leading three turnovers.  Ashley Gugliuzzo (3-7) scooped five ground balls and made a season-high 15 saves in net.

Heather Ferchland led St. Joseph's with a game-high seven goals to go along with eight draw controls, six caused turnovers and six ground balls.  Lindsay Ramos (5-4) stopped three shots to secure the Golden Eagle win.
